Final Equation helps you learn mathematical proofs through interactive games and tutorials. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, our app guides you step by step.
1. Download the App
Final Equation is available for both Android and iOS devices. Visit our download page to get the app.
2. Create an Account
While you can try some features without an account, creating one lets you:
- Save your progress across devices
- Build a portfolio of your proofs
- Collaborate with others on proofs
- Join the community and follow other learners
3. Start with the Natural Number Game
The Natural Number Game is the perfect place to begin. It teaches fundamental proof techniques through hands-on exercises, starting from the very basics of addition and working up to more complex concepts.
Understanding the Proof Editor
The proof editor is where you'll spend most of your time. Here's how it works:
Goals and Hypotheses
At the top of the editor, you'll see your current goal - what you need to prove. Below that are your hypotheses - facts you can use in your proof.
Tactics
Tactics are the building blocks of proofs. Common tactics include:
rfl- Proves goals that are true by definitionrw- Rewrites using an equationinduction- Proves by mathematical inductionexact- Provides an exact proof term
Getting Hints
Stuck on a proof? Tap the hint button for suggestions. The app provides contextual hints based on your current goal and available hypotheses.
Collaborative Proofs
Work together with friends on challenging proofs:
- Create a new collaborative proof session
- Share the session code with your collaborators
- Work together in real-time, seeing each other's changes
- Use the chat feature to discuss strategies
Tracking Your Progress
Your profile shows all the proofs you've completed, organized by world and level. You can also see statistics about your proof-writing journey.
Tips for Success
- Take your time - Proofs require careful thought. Don't rush.
- Read the hints - Each level has helpful explanations.
